Needless to say, I'm excited about the new iPhone 3G and have been since watching the Apple World-Wide Developer Conference keynote. With the new App store and the iPhone's new hardware capabilities, I believe it will change the landscape of how we access our information. While a lot of what the iPhone does is less revolutionary and really more evolutionary, it is Apple's marketing and accessibility that will make this a huge success.
Having said that, it's been a real struggle to find one in St. Louis since its launch. I finally ordered one through ATT direct fullfillment and I should have my White 16GB iPhone in a few days. In the meantime, if you're looking for an iPhone 3G here in St. Louis, Missouri, here are some great resources to help you in your hunt! First, for general information, I've found this a great, and up-to-date forum for general iPhone 3G info. Second, if you've placed a direct fulfillment order, as I have, you can track it here - or at wheresmydamniphone.com at the very least you'll need an order number which should have been provided in an e-mail from ATT. If you'd rather keep trying your luck at the Apple retail stores, but find their nightly update confounding, you can use this service which is updated every 15 minutes. As it stands, there appears to be much better replenishment now than in the past week or two. Good luck! As an additional note, Dijital Media is extremely excited about the possibilities of developing for the iPhone. We've got some great ideas for apps that we're currently developing and hope to roll out soon. I have been playing with the SDK (Software Development Kit) for the past couple of months, and it is not only easy to use, but allows for a great deal of creativity and interoperability. Stay tuned! |
