In fact, there's at least half a dozen ways to use your last.fm account to discover new music. Check out this LifeHacker article for more. The idea behind it is pretty simple. Last.fm tracks what users listen to and builds associations between artists, genres, and tags, allowing it to recommend similar music to you. The more you use it, the better the recommendations. Getting started is easy too. You sign up for a free account, install a plugin for your preferred music player, and start listening!
